Central has conducted an extensive program in these permits, including the acquisition of 688 km 2D seismic data, and the drilling of Blamore-1 and Simpson-1. Following the discovery of thick Permian coals, Central drilled nine shallow wells to test the coal seam gas potential.

Of several structures mapped on seismic, the Madigan prospect is believed to be the best opportunity to test oil potential of Jurassic reservoirs. The Hector trend running through EP’s 93 and 97 may have gas potential in sediments of Cambrian age. Reprocessing of legacy seismic data is planned to map the Hector trend and identify locations for infill seismic.

A significant trend of sub-cropping coals lie at an attractive depth for further CSG exploration.
